Brent went to town on this page, playing around with different perspectives, shading and tones. I was particularly impressed with the aerial shot in the second panel overlay, which was a neat blend of penciled art and digital effects. I can't remember how closely this page matched the original script as there's little dialogue as we continue to build the suspense of Joshua's return home. But I typically view the script panel structure to be open to interpretation by the illustrator, unless there's a specific reason called out by the script. Working with Brent, specifically, is a breeze since he's got great instincts on when to zip and when to zag. Most of the fun in developing Killing Demons was in getting the draft pages back to see exactly how he decided to run with things.
