One of the best experiences I had in working on the Killing Demons project was in having the opportunity to collaborate with Brent. Scene after scene, he really "got" what I was aiming for and the book became fairly easy to script once we established a good rhythm between us. I had a rough outline of the book early on, and we typically worked scene by scene, where I would be scripting the next scene as Brent was finishing the current scene.
But when I got final pages back from Brent for a particular scene (such as this page in scene two), it was clear that the art could carry the plot on its own without the need for a lot of dialogue exposition. So, we exorcised some of the script during the lettering process in order to let the art do a lot of the talking.
Regarding this page in particular, I fondly remember being delighted in how Brent was able to create a lot of story movement with Joshua's gloves alone, which would have been lost if they were obscured by dialogue balloons.
