It's all coming together!
I had the toughest time getting Santiago's expression in these shots. Finally, I took some snap shots of my younger brother Gerrett doing his best A–hole cop impersonation.
I say finally because with KD, I think I was hesitant to use direct reference. Perhaps pride or form watching comic artists work quickly and with seemingly minimal effort. Of coarse later I figured out that you can and should use anything at your disposal to get it done the best you can. Years later I've come full circle and use less reference than before and that's just because of reps.
Also, every now and then I come across one of those pics I took of Gerrett and get an unexpected laugh.
