Joss paper is paper money burned to the dead, some times its called hell money but not fond of that name for it,  the idea being
that things burnt in this world become ghost things that can be used by the
dead,, one of the lovely ladies that raised me use to burn letters to dead
loved ones as well as Joss paper, I remember being very pleased when she wrote a letter to the dead about me, and let me help fold and burn the paper money, as I don’t remember there being a special
name for such letters I’m using the word Joss to describe the paper and the
letter,
