Personally, I have the feeling that the only candidates that are accepted on dating shows today are those I wouldn't even touch with a glove on. I don't mean ugly people… I mean plastic dolls posing as humans, and career zombies, people like that. Or maybe our society's entirely composed of these people by now, and I'm just… odd :-)

REPLIES:

DAJB: Well, I'm probably just not photogenic enough to get on those shows… or I'd scare the female contestants :-) But yeah, I see your point… I'm not the type of person that's out to make a fool of himself in front of an already morally depraved audience. And thanks a lot for finding my rants thought-provoking :-)

Scorpious, man in black: Thanks!

JNP: Look again - I hurried to correct the typo! Thanks for pointing it out - actually it was a word I looked up in the dictionary, since I only recalled it vaguely… y'know, my vocabulary is mostly based on movies I watched and comics I read :-) The captions were my personal approach to making this page more fun… carrying the captioning over from the last page gave me a long-awaited chance to give some, uh, meta-analysis on the protagonists… okay, well, that's just my way of saying: it's a spoof. Or self-mockery? Hm, choose what you like best. And I feel honored you nominated my little webcomic for the DD awards… The least I can do is to continue in this vein, eh? Thanks for the constant reassurance, in any case - highly appreciated.

Jabali: Thank you!

Fitz: Well, what can I say except… thank you, thank you, thank you! For nominating this collection of rants I call a story, for your praise, and probably most of all, for "getting" it - which makes me feel less outlandish :-) I think the worst thing about constantly being bombarded with fake plastic people in the media is slowly getting used to them, and being tempted to measure real-life people in comparison to these hollow ideals. Although I have to say - getting rid of body hair can justifiable construed as a question of hygiene, not of "body forming" :-) What bothers me is: What kind of name is "Evangeline Lily" in the first place? How come that being a celebrity correlates with having such an extravagant name these days? :-) The Prometheus thing came out of the image of DNA in my mind… like a chain… somehow it's not too far to Prometheus from there. At least in my head. And we both seem to love holding genes responsible for the human condition in our comics…
