Some of this might be meta as well :P …I know, the "writing myself into my work" metaphor is not that creative or original… it just lent itself.
Due to its spontaneous nature, signifikat is a comic which depends completely on the mood I'm in while drawing a page. I would write a rough script, but change it completely if I'm in the mood for something different. The rough script for this page had a rather abstract text about the nature of writing and language, but I rewrote it bit by bit over the last few days. There's less text now, and it's a more personal bit about how writing transforms and defines one's way of life.
Iia's "academy" look is based on a drawing by S. A. Welland which you can find here.

DAJB: Thank you very much! I'm trying to use panelling (or the lack of it) more consciously these days. Panels are often used in a way which is purely based on habit and/or tradition, whereas it should be a conscious artistic decision. I hope to someday arrive at a point where I can honestly say that everything is based on a conscious decision - I do obviously have a long way to go.
alejkhan: Thanks! Inner thoughts and outer space… nice juxtaposition. As always (and despite what I just replied to DAJB), my actual layouts do depend much more on subconscious goings-on than you'd probably expect. So a "radial theme" would probably show up in your interpretation rather than in my actual intention :-) And yes, she turned out cute as a kid, but her teen self seems rather angsty, doesn't it?
