Chapter 5… with a change of scenery.

As I was looking through the archives last week I noticed a lot of commenters seem to have gone missing (major thanks to everyone who hasn't though :P), and I'd like to find out whether or not they still read this comic.

So, for every ten people who comment on this page I will give away one free copy of signifikat Book 1 (I'll randomly draw the winners' names - in the event that the winner already owns it he or she will get book 2 as soon as it comes out). Meaning: If there are two commenters, one of them will get a book. If there are fourteen commenters, two will get a book, for 26 it'll be three books and so on (multiple comments by the same person count as one of course). Shipping is free too! The deadline is next Thursday (or whenever I'll upload the next page). Winners will be announced on this site (most likely in two weeks) and notified personally.

The only rule is this: I need to be able to infer from your comment that you've probably read the whole comic. And I won't just take your word for it. For example, tell me what you particularly liked about the past chapters, why you're reading signifikat, what you expect, what you'd like to improve based on past pages etc. It doesn't matter if you're a long-time reader or a newbie. Of course I know that DAJB, JustNoPoint, alejkhan, Jabali and a few others have read it (they still must comment on this page to enter though :P).

(I also just noticed that this is the 100th page! So the occasion is quite fitting.)

Good luck and thanks for reading!

REPLIES:

alejkhan: Thanks on all accounts! And I'm glad this image piques your interest - It must seem quite mysterious right now. After reading your comment I increased Sunhra's line-weight… I had already been sort of aware of the fact that her helmet might get lost in the lines delineating the woman on the right, but it didn't occur to me that it might actually look like a wing! I hope it's clearer now. So the Bird-God's wing echoing another "wing" was purely coincidence.

JNP: Haha, but I did write that none of you regulars would actually have to comment in the way I requested… and you're also the only regular who already owns the book (I think)! Either way, thanks a lot for your comment! Your support has been amazing, you're the greatest reader a webcomic-creator could hope for!
Abandoning the gray-scaling after chapter 1 made sure that I could continue this comic quickly, otherwise it might have gone on an indefinite hiatus. The end of chapter 1 was a very critical point for me, and the decision to continue quickly and in b/w was what in the end saved this whole comic. I know gray-scaling would make it more pleasant to look at, but it's not like I really had a choice - this comic would not be the comic it is today if I had continued adding gray. And I like to think it turned out much better than it would if I had. Because in the end it's not just a matter of how the art looks, it's a decision which in the end influences my whole planning and writing. Most narrative descisions were made only after I started chapter 2. Let's put it this way: If I had continued adding gray, Nora might never have appeared. The Ed/Sunhra storyline might never have been explored as it was. The comic would not only have updated slower but been very, very different.
Anyway, save one of your printed comics for me! And good luck and have fun at the convention! Yeah… wish I could attend!
And I'll try to include some martial-arts-scenes sometime… they won't be too well-choreographed though since I've never done any :3

mmm bacon0: Thanks a lot! And thanks for your continuing support!

Jabali: You're also one of my most supportive readers, which is highly appreciated. The greatest thing about making this comic is how much support I get from amazing artists like yourself. That probably makes me an artist's artist :D

SoraNezumi: Sorry, I didn't want to make you feel as if you were attending class ^^; It probably makes me appreciate your comment much more though :D So thanks a lot! I'm afraid I'm not too familiar with Gall Force, but it's one of the ever-recurring universal themes in fiction I guess.

Protonic: Haha, I'll try to keep my guard up. No guns scheduled to appear in the near future though, sorry!

Rockster1039: Long time no see! What kept ya? :D

DAJB: Aww, poor brain! I didn't mean to hurt it, I swear. But if you like that sort of pain it's all good I guess. More on fertility goddesses and skeletal wings shortly!
