I guess this sort of dialogue (or sometimes, monologue) is really the heart of this comic. But because Ed has had several of these before, I didn't let him ramble quite as much here as I used to. So he jumps from talking about memories to talking about pheromones - but this should only go to show which kind of memories he's really talking about.

In my dialogues I have the urge to include all the conceptual connections, but I had to remind myself I'm not writing a philosophical paper - so Freudian slips are acceptable, because they reveal something about the character. The way I see it, realistic dialogue will often be jumpy and conceptually incomplete.

BTW, This scene and the bits about Rob's memory go back to ch. 2 pg. 3. (There was also a rather lengthy discussion about it in the comments on that very page.)
