No way. Germany won the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in 28 years. Obviously, this doesn't have anything to do with anything. But this is my weekly webcomic, dammit! It can take the abuse! :P
I've been working on this for the past two hours just to get the adrenaline out of my system. It's my first digital painting ever. Obviously, it looks far from finished. But I guess nobody should expect my first ever digital painting to look finished, especially not when it's made in two hours. And especially not when I started it past midnight.
Thanks, Lena. Thanks, Stefan Raab. Thanks, Europe.
Also, Dennis Hopper died. What a shame. He deserved much better roles than he actually got, but I will always treasure my Easy Rider blu-ray. Well, or whatever will replace blu-rays in a few years. Rest In Peace.

DAJB: Thanks! And my condolences for the UK ;-) Personally, I couldn't find anything memorable about the Ukraine's entry though… And I've been hearing the Lily Allen comparison so many times that I finally have to say something about it: I do like both Lily Allen and Lena, but they are completely different. Lily Allen is moody and provocative, and the best reason to like her might be her songwriting (I imagine that living in the UK, you could read about her in the yellow press every other day, and she seems happy to produce a minor scandal every so often). Lena is quirky and fun whatever she does, cheerful and charming, and her creativity lies in the performance, in the interpretation of pre-exisiting songs. She's been picking brilliant songs for her performances when competing for participation in the ESC, but the songs which were written for her own CD (inlcuding "Satellite") are nowhere near anything Lily Allen could write.
Stig Hemmer: It's been ages! Because… "Ein bißchen Frieden" was the year I was born :D
