Sorry we're a bit late, but it was a bit of a rush getting the girls ready at such short notice to accept their award!

This is one of those embarassingly, cringey, long winded speeches, so if you nod off halfway through or just choose to skip it, I forgive you! lol
To be honest winning this award is the last thing I expected!Being up against four other such popular strips, the final decision must have been so very close. I did say to Megan during the competition that I was sure she would get this award, and that I was secretly hoping I might get the 'Slice-of-life, but when I looked in on Thursday and saw that both best'Romance'and'Slice-of- life' had gone to other strips I really thought that was it. Both SS and LPFOS were nominated for so many awards and disappointingly Megan missed out on as many as we did. We may have won top prize this year but Megan is still the 'Queen of lesbian comics' as far as I'm concerned! :)
I was also really pleased to see Takara get 'best Manga' for 'BlueO'!! so now maybe she will start to BELIEVE ME!! when I tell her how good she is!
I would also really have liked to have seen Skullbie get something for her gorgeous art on PLASTIC, and Pastel for her equally lovely work on ELO, and my dear friend Dark Chibi anything at all!!for WIRESII ( there should have been a category for the most dedicated artist… and oh yea, 'the most prolonged sex scene'too!)
I'm sure you guys will get something next year tho!!!!

It was great to see Dave and his team pick up a couple of awards too for 'Shades'!! and dear Harry Q as well, a wonderfully talented artist who should at least have got nominated for 'Best traditional artist' and who so modestly decided to take a back seat instead.
Lastly, a big thankyou to Emma Clare for all her dedicated time spent colouring the pages and doing those awesome lighting effects, what would SS be without her? I would have loved to see Emma get the 'best colouring award' as so much of the work she has done on SS is just so beautiful, but as she said herself, the quality of the entries in that award were so very high! This comic is a joint effort though and we produce it as a team and accept the award as equally.
I have to also thank my partner and soul-mate for putting up with me and being so understanding throughout all the time I have ignored her while doing this strip. She has been very supportive and is very special to me
