SS3 35 Sarah is confused

I saw last week a film called 'Prayers for Bobby' A true story of a very religious woman who drove her son to suicide just because she could not align him being gay with her faith. I'm a little shocked that in this day and age a few lines in such a massive text can ruin so many decent young peoples happiness, and sometimes lives. My friend herself has already made one attempt. So many disagree over the interpretation of the bibles meaning, and I've heard that the verses causing the trouble are not to be taken as literally as some would like to us to believe. It seems very sad that this confusion of meaning can cause so much grief, I'm sure that any God who preaches love and understanding would not want that.. I'm curiuos though to hear from any of my other readers who have had trouble with this issue, and if they have found any answers, or would like to find a resolution to this matter.
For those who didn't see the film or are just interested I have posted part of the script from 'Prayers for Bobby' in the Blue room on the (True to our hearts) forum. It raises some interesting and comforting thoughts.
