SS4 72 Sarah pays Gerry a visit

The story so far: Stacey was formerly a bully who picked on Sarah, Janey and Gerry during their school years together, with the result that one day things came to a head when Stacey pushed Janey into the path of an oncoming van and nearly killed her.
In later years Stacey confided to Sarah (in confidence) that she is a victim of child abuse and that Gerry's own mother was a key social worker who had failed to protect her. Sarah has kept the secret from Janey because she is afraid that her hot-headed attitude will cause even more trouble and shatter the trust she has built up with Stacey, on the other hand Stacey has now put her in a very awkward position and she no longer feels she can bear the secret alone..

Back at Christmas if you recall Sarah mentions briefly that Stacey has been visiting a drug rehab centre (page48). She has been switched to Methadone as a substitute but that will come out later on in the story.
