Kilre onI made a decision to make all magic cast in this story to have its own color according to the user. Ken, here, has an inner blue magic. It doesn't necessarily mean anything according to their innate abilities, but rather denotes some special familial lineage. Only certain families will have certain colored magic, and so on.
There are exceptions. Natural mages, or those that deal with any of the elements found in the world, such as fire, earth, water, and the like, will tend to have magic that is two-toned: one color for the family, one for the inherent color of the magic itself.
Keep in mind, however, that all this color business is entirely superficial: it is the user's sole discretion that their magic is one color or another, simply because the energy of the spirit world is colorless. Colors are either subconsciously chosen, or are taught by members of the family. Ken's family has a history of blue-tinted magic, and thus he will keep the tradition going.
Whew, enough of that. Seeya Sunday with BSkies.
