Mephiles knows that Sonny is there, but Shadow doesn't. Sorry, but Mephiles is a villian, and Eggman is getting kinda old. It was painful to do this, since Shadow is my favorite character, but it had to be done. Sonny is so upset, he goes Super Sonny to try to defeat Mephiles himself, but Mephiles runs so he doesn't have to fight everyone that would have been alerted by Sonny going super.
