Sorry this is a few minutes late…

Anyway, now i'm sure a few of you WTF'ed at the suddenly dramatic tone of this page and I want to elaborate on this a little bit.

During my "Terrible Future" arc, I used a very cheap gimmick for shock value to "villify" the character Dan. This was the implication that Dan had raped and brainwashed Gen. I see now that that move was very irresponsible of me and completely sidesteps the very real and very important issue that rape is. Not only that, but I also effectively "undid" it because of the time-travel angle, so not only did I just not handle it appropriately, but I also ignored the whole thing.

As someone who is putting a message out to the world, however small as this humble little comic is, it's my responsibility to show a fair and honest representation of the ramifications of rape. One of the worst things this society does is turning a blind eye to women, and yes men too, who are victimised by rape. And if I did not do something to show some kind of result from that plot-line, then I would be perpetuating that evil into the world. Rape is very real and very serious and it has monumental after-effects on the people who are hurt by it.
