This is the first of four pages I wrote/drew in early 2008 for the second volume of a German anthology by the name of "Jazam!". The English version is also included in Bombshell #0.

The general aim of this anthology is to provide exposure to budding artists who are not (yet) working in the industry. I've heard of one artist who contributed some pages to the first volume, and by the time the second was out he'd already published something with Image Comics… and you have to remember that we're talking about a German artist here (- Germany is a quite undeveloped country, comic-wise).

Jazam! Vol. 2 was released at the ComicSalon in Erlangen, the largest comic convention in Germany. Sadly I couldn't be there… but I'll make sure to be there for the release of the third volume, if only because this year it'll be in Munich (where I'm living anyway ;-P).

Darrellsan: Thanks! Comics are much more present in Germany nowadays than, say in the 90s. Both manga and superhero comics are flourishing (well, maybe they're downsizing a bit these days, but just because there are probably THOUSANDS of different titles available… they expanded exponentially during the past decade), but these are only the translated comics… the problem is more with Germany's (lack of (published)) own comic writers/artists.
Regarding Germans and reading English: I got the impression that despite the fact that many Germans speak or understand English (rudimentarily, at least), most would rather read German… reading English seems to take more effort and is considered as "work" rather than entertainment to many. I write my comics in English first, and don't have many of them translated, and that decimates my audience significantly. But I'm sure the hits you get from Germany have to do with the pictures rather than the words ;-)
