Whenever I think about my early days on the web, dialing up on a blazin' 56.k modem and look at what we're doing online now, I just laugh at how old I am.
Seriously, if you're younger than maybe 25 you seriously have no idea what the struggles were like trying to get on to AOL.  Imagine having to dial a phone number to get online, then imagine that number you were dialing was ALWAYS. BUSY. It was ridiculous.  I had a list of like 15 numbers that I would use to try to login to AOL.  And then, for a while, I would login after school, and then after about 10 minutes my mom would call and since I didn't have call waiting suspended (*70) and knock me offline.
Side note: the background is Windows 95.
