#1071 Piety: Responsibility

I don't think I could be God. I just don't see how I could handle the responsibility of allowing people to have freedom, yet not step in whenever someone is going to do something terrible. Because that's how this sort of thing works; you can't tell people they're allowed to decide for themselves, then just have them fall over whenever they're going to do something you don't agree with. I think a part of it comes from the idea that, if there weren't bad things in the world, then the good ones wouldn't count. Going back to my "Youth" story arc, I believe that a world of eternal bliss would be empty and unfulfilling. Change comes from adapting to challenges, and if there's no challenge then there is stagnation, and virtual death.
