One of the interesting things about drawing this comic is that sometimes it's kind of a gag strip, while other times it's more like an action manga. I like to have some kind of a 'hit' or 'hook' on every page, because it works nicely in webcomic format.
I tend to use the terms 'comic' and 'manga' interchangeably, as they do in Japan. I read a huge range of comics from all over the world, and don't have a preference for any one kind. Sequential art is a wonderfully flexible medium, which is why I like it! I tend to use 'manga' to describe this comic because the art style, page and panel layouts and storytelling focus have a strong eastern influence, but there's also a lot of American influence in the art, and the setting and writing are very European. It's really a 'fusion' comic.
