The funny thing about this page was that originally the play on the word 'punk' wasn't in the dialogue, it had the mook saying something more generic like 'gotcha' and then Zeph appears and says 'bang!' or similar. The realisation that I could use the joke of him doing an irritating misquote of John Wayne and getting his comeuppance from a guy who is a punk occurred to me while I was inking it. I don't actually write scripts for this comic. I write a synopsis of roughly what happens and what key info is put across, then thumbnail and draw, finally coming up with the exact dialogue spoken when I type it up (well, the handwritten stuff is done at the inking stage, but even that may be different from what I put in at the pencilling stage!
