Could this be…a choppily added in subplot?

Well, I had this page all but done on the 17th of December. Unfortunately, in the midst of finishing the top panel, I heard a cry come from down stairs. It was my mom on the phone with my dad, who had taken our cat to the vet because he was feeling ill. As it turns out, he was so ill that the doctors thought we ought to make the decision to put him to sleep. So, as you might imagine, that was a pretty shitty day, and this comic has been just hanging out on my computer unfinished, because I just couldn't stand to look at it. My cat lived a long life and I hope he didn't hate us pathetic human slaves too much. Anyway, I just felt like explaining the delay and sort of dedicate this page to my beloved, Per. No need to comment on it, I just needed to get it out of my system, I guess.
