Remember, magic in FFC is color-coded. Red is spells for the Light, blue is spells for the Dark, white is dragon magic, and green is neutral. The fact that the spell he's using to "control" Ry in panel 1 is green means it's not actually using Light magic. I didn't really have a place to put it into the comic, but what he did was came up with a spell that would mimic the effect of the spell to control the Guardian that the Keeper has. Since it was similar, Ry didn't question it, but it's not nearly as strong and the effect is apparent. XD Once he decided he wasn't going to listen to Corwin anymore, it became nothing but an annoyance. So in essence, it only worked because he believed it, once he stopped believing, it was broken.
Our minds can be pretty scary sometimes.
And speaking of scary, we almost had a return of EvilRy here. XD I wanted to do that…well…because it's what would happen, really. Based on what triggers it anyway. But also to remind you all that that hasn't gone away or been resolved. But it has been averted.
…I don't think Katyn noticed. She got lucky. XD

I'm happy with the art on this one, more or less. It gets across what I need it to. The final two panels make me smile.

OH! And for those who were remarking that these guys weren't very good soldiers, turning on their commander as they did - GOOD FOR YOU! I meant to reply to you. Yes, it's a problem with the Light. Confidence is one of their hallmarks, which can easily lead to dissension in the ranks. A leader for the Light can only hold people together when they're charismatic/powerful/intelligent enough to carry them. Corwin, unfortunately, is none of those. I forgot to mention it in the last author's notes though - thanks for reminding me!

K's always look weird in Ry's font. :'

Two weeks left in the contest!

Thanks for reading! See you next week!
