The ear comment is because the ears on the helmet are smaller than her ears, so they were kind of forced in there. Plus…not sure how gentle Paul was in removing the helmet.

The Ambis and the other personalities are rather separate from each other, so it's safe for Paul to tell Jix what the plan was. (Plus it gives us some nice exposition.) I mean, he can't hear any of this even if he's still around. Only time will tell if he's truly gone.
