Panel 9 is from the game Codename: ICEMAN. While it wasn’t a COMPLETELY
terrible game, it still wasn’t very good…I only recommend it to obsessive SCI
fans, like me.
 
And each of those scenarios mentioned is real. [spoilers abound]
 
Towards the beginning of the game, a woman tells you that she lost her
earring somewhere on the beach. I guess this is to tell you that you’re supposed
to go on a pixel hunt to find the thing. There’s a roll of microfilm inside,
containing your orders and coordinates once you get on the submarine. Without
that, you don’t know where to go.
 
When getting your orders just before going onto the submarine, you have to
give an ID card to a guard. Not only do you have to make sure you get it back
from him, but there’s always a very likely chance that he’ll give you THE WRONG
CARD. If you don’t make sure you get the right one back, you won’t be able to
read the microfilm in the earring.
 
The bottle…well, there’s a way around that. During a SCUBA-diving scene, you
have to use it as a signal that you’re about to surface (don’t ask me, I don’t
know)…if you don’t get it in the dice game, then if you know exactly where to
look, you can find another one in the water.
