LEGO's first series of blindpacked Collectible Minifigures is fan-freakin-tastic! Unfortunately, they were made insanely limited and therefore are very hard to find. Kind of an uncool move on behalf of TLG, whose products are generally available for longer periods of time than most toys, ensuring every kid and adult fan who wants one can have one. I hate the thought that kids are going into toy stores looking for these things and striking out because everyone else rushed out to get them during the few short weeks they were available. The concept itself is a great idea, since minifigures are generally the most popular item LEGO makes, and to offer more detailed, unique figures by themselves is genius. But the limited availability is both dumb and cruel.

I had a box of them on pre-order that never got filled. So, I finally gave up and just bought the figures I wanted the most off of Bricklink. The ultra-awesome retro robot is one of my favorites. He manages to appear both menacing and adorable at the same time, and that's what guided his portrayal in this comic. With some minor alterations, he could also make a great Cyberman.

- This is not an official LEGO comic. This is a tribute to lumbering 1950's death-bots!
