It would seem that Billy doesn't possess super hearing otherwise he might have heard Brelvis snuffling around in the folliage there. This scene goes a bit towards showing that Billy cares a fair bit for Kaycee - what a shame for him that he's too strong for Kaycee to handle him in any kind of amorous way!

Tomorrow… recriminations.
