This one is for Helm, who requested a panda comic just after I'd drawn a panda comic. Synchronicity ahoy! Helm draws comics that are about ten thousand times better than mine. Go and look, they will make you feel sort of sad and kind of vulnerable and very alive.

If an animal is clearly ill suited and not so great at surviving, is it maybe wrong to try and force it to? Isn't that denying evolution? Extinction is a pretty important part of it, and more than 99% of all species that have ever lived are now gone. Are we maybe making the mistake of thinking that "now" is important, or even an end state? We're all just part of the process, dude.
Also, are we maybe all hepped up about keeping the pandas going just cause we find them cute? What if pandas had the appeal of hagfish, would we care so much then?

Pandas did used to be carnivores, but they probably didn't feed on hydras. Pandas have also developed a kind of pseudo-thumb to grip things with, so I guess one could conceivably use a pistol.
