The husband and I thought that showing XX1 their wedding album was a gallant attempt to prove that the life the couple is living when the robot meets them is not always the life they've lived. A callback to the happy times. Clearly, the wife doesn't see it that way (and I can definitely understand why. Who breaks out the wedding album to show to a weird little alien robot?).

The husband's pajama pants are based on a pair I myself once owned, and his shirt in this page's first panel is loosely meant to call back to the uniform tops in Star Trek: The Next Generation. I know jokes aren't funny if you have to explain them, but these aren't really "jokes" so much as they are "factoids."
