If anyone's confused by Tai's outlook on life at this point in the comic, it's pretty straightforward. Essentially, she was brainwashed. A way of thinking was forced on her repeatedly from an early age, so it became her entire life. It was presented to her as the truth, and she accepted it as such. She didn't need to think and observe and formulate opinions on life because she already "knew" what was true. And knowing what was true, she had an automatic disdain for ANYONE who presented ideas outside of her experience. Clearly, these people are wrong. There is nothing harder than trying to convince someone who's been brainwashed that what they've been taught is wrong, they'll only look at you as ignorant.
Anyway, that seems to be the case from the reading I've done on brainwashing (I did research for once! Yay!) and I hope I present it accurately. It's the POV I write her from.

The comments on the previous page were awesome. Some of them presented different views from what were in my head when I wrote it. I love that, because these differing interpretations are still completely correct. It allows me to look at my own characters in a new light. Thanks!
