(Edited commentary at 2:23 EST)

The flow sucks here. I chose to show Kaida's experience rather than Toyo's, and it ended up feeling choppy and afterthought-y. It isn't. I just left out Toyo's POV. He isn't here by coincidence, and you'll have an explanation of his appearance by the end of this arc. For now, humor me in this approach and feel as confused as Kaida is.

Peipei: Right and wrong aren't very clear around here, and Mike is one of the most conflicted characters. He has his reasons – whether or not anyone agrees with them.

Bella Blue: Thanks. What I was going for. :-)

maritalbliss: Yeah, but he was a bad guy back then. Mwahahaha – er, I mean lol.

Masq: Someone has to look out for Fudo; Kaida's scary. :-/

n_y_japlander: Tim's not around at the moment. He's not the most reliable companion, not really a friend.

Tantz: I have a lot of reasons to like Mike; they just aren't especially apparent right now. ;-) His exact motives for this action will surface later, suffice it to say Mike doesn't choose sides.

Ten chan: Fudo left. You can turn down the anxiety a little.

Locoma: A man has to defend himself… Anyway, Toyo's here now, and if anyone can handle Fudo, it'll be his old pal.

trevoramueller: She was asking for it. ;-)

ShinGen: Mike is keenly aware of the ramifications of his actions. (The boy is good at making enemies.)

LanceDanger: Don't go jumping to conclusions. ;-) Tristan and Mike are neighbors, and Mike works late. Don't be so quick to condemn him (at least not for that). He saved Tristan's life when Fudo wanted him dead.
