I giggled when uploading this page because the thought crept into my mind, "If I didn't know better, I'd say Mike was getting commission from the hospital." Yes, Mike gave Kaida her gun and turned his back to her. I told you he was fun.

That's the last page of this chapter. The next chapter… I'll let that be a surprise, but expect fun coloring and the "title chibis" on tomorrow's page. ;-) Only two chapters left in this insanely long night.

maritalbliss: I changed my author's notes yesterday to explain. Toyo didn't appear by coincidence. I was just following Kaida's POV, and it ended up feeling "forced." I promise it'll come together by the end.

ShinGen: Yeah, condensing is a big part of it but also keeping some things hidden for later. (It still plays as a partial mystery.) The flow is iffy, but all things have a purpose/reason – including Mike's demeanor.

n_y_japlander: Thanks. I change plans all the time, but I try to keep it a secret, so you only see the end result. ;-) (Usually it runs pretty smoothly, though.)

Tantz: Thanks for being patient. I'm afraid this plays out like one of my mystery stories. Things get really confusing before the pieces fall into place. – And I don't mean to be so cryptic about Mike. I just have trouble putting it into words. He's a very conflicted young man.
