Toyo's lacerations are nearly identical to the ones my sister received in a car accident. The weird thing is that I didn't draw them that way deliberately. I just drew some long wounds on his face and when I looked at it afterwards, I was reminded of my sister in the hospital bed after she was stitched up… I guess that image was stuck in my head.

Oh, and I'm not sure if this is common knowledge or not, but the reason Seiko is "stepping outside" is to go to a safe area to use a cell phone (so it doesn't interfere with hospital equipment). – That and to escape the tension, of course.

amanda: It's all about our unfortunate cat-sitter, of course. – Yuki and Brad drove straight home, seeing as they are knee-deep in a case. Yeah, I know. Less saucy than desired.

ghostrunner: There's a story here, but we won't get to hear it, since the witnesses are a cat and an unconscious man.

JustNoPoint: Lol. I don't think she heard that conversation – and like that's a bad thing. XD

Peipei: Less of an apology and more a note of sympathy. Yuki got into town last night, so she already knows about this incident.

Tantz: Not quite yet. At the moment we have a lack of information – but we are starting to fall into a kudzu plot situation.

trevor: Lol! He does! I never noticed. Add another one to my list of unintentional sitcom cameos…

Locoma: I've mostly only been in hospitals visiting too. I went there in an ambulance once to get checked out after my sister and I were in a car accident. (I wasn't hurt. I went just in case.)
