So today my family moved into the 21st century, so to speak, with the pruchase of a very large flat screen tv, a dvd player/recorder, and hd cable capabilities.

But, but… I can't get the cab;e to work. Actually, it's funny, my father went to work and left it all in my hands. Which probably should have been a warning sign that something's going to esplode. Luckily, nothing yet, so far.

I'm just kind of frustrated that I have all of these nice color coded wires, but the installation giude is all black and white.

My basement TV only has a single cable. That's it. Plug it up and you're ready to watch some football… or something.
Man, technology used to be so simple… I mean, the remotes now are… huge.

Oh man, the irony in that is strong. >.>

You should totally check on Google, maybe you can find some installation guides or something like that, remember, the internet knows all.

google ESPECIALLY knows all.

I work as a bill collector. Theres a good chance I could track you down just from your screen name, thanks to Google, that should scare the crap out of everyone in the world

Google knows all, but we trade our anonymity for quality of service. Google rocks even though they keep EVERYTHING (search history, emails, chats, visits… and if you have Google Desktop it knows more than THAT!)
Hide in plain site… put as much contradictory information up as you can! Collecting information has never been the problem. Collating and sifting it into usable intelligence is the real difficulty!

Off topic:

I belonged to a forum once- really strong community. Still exists- I have my comic forum there.

Anyway, some dumb script kiddie hacked the place, locked out all the admins and deleted everything.

This upset a lot of people, since people had made a lot of friends there, started relationships, gotten married (I'm one of those), and people didn't want to lose all that history.

Within 2 days, they had his name, phone number, address, and high school photo. Not kidding you. ^_^ We turned it all over to the admins of the site- it was their business he'd trashed, we figured they'd go to the police and at least have him scared into giving us the site back.

Never worked, but at least the kid was freaked out. ^_^

Google can turn up ALL kinds of stuff you never knew was on there. o_O
