I know we have a few rarefied antipodean examples of godly awesomeness here, myself included. But How many?
There's RuseBolton who posted just now, Warefish, Cartoonprofessor, ParkerFarker, and a few others…

Calling all Australians!
does japan count as part of australia ?Well apparently the reason you get earthquakes there is because the Aussie tectonic plate is overlapping the Japanese one. (I could be wrong. My geography teacher wore bow ties… red ones. With spots. He also wore a brown tweed jacket with leather patches on the elbows. Seriously.)
So yeah… Japan will eventually be made into part of Australia!
I've watched both the Crocodile Dundee movies.Only if you can play knifey spoony.
Does that count?
I don't think so. According to my comic Australia will be an evil super power or something in the future. I can't let you guys start uniting now. By next week you'll all be dressing like the freak in my link!
Hmm… I don't think that was the point, but now that you mention it… i could do with a little evil in my day, thanks for the tip :evil:
Oh no - I think I just disqualified myself with man tears. :cry2:That's right. In the words of the Monty Python "Bruce" sketch: no pooftas.
I joke, of course. We are proud of our pride marches.
But yeah- the true Aussie reaction is stony-faced denial with a tinge of grudging respect. ^___^

Aussie actorsWell Russell Crowe is a Kiwi (honorary Aussie), and Mel Gibson is really a Yank. Heh, I guess that's why you put them on the end eh? ;)
Greatest Aussie expat actor had to be Errol Flynn! When I think of pirates I think of Errol as Captain Blood, when I think of Robin Hood, only Errol ever comes to mind- all others are crappy looser fakers. >:\

I believe it was best said or in this case sung, in the 'New Australian Anthem' by Tripod -
We've got enough different foods now,
We've got some quite good bands,
So let's all grit our teeth and sort of hold hands.
Sorry no YouTube link… it seems no-one has posted a video for it…
But if you do want it the full lyrics are here: http://members.optusnet.com.au/pennywyatt/Interests/Tripod/SongInAnHour3/Song%20in%20an%20Hour08.html
& you can apparently download the MP3 without being threated with Piracy warnings…
We'll have an Aussie in the house tomorrow. My sister's boyfriend is on the way. He's technically English and was born in Zimbabwe, but he grew up and lives in Perth.
When my sister stayed there, her name was instantly shortened from Christine to Chris. And her bf Roland is called Ro. Do Aussies fear multisyllabic names, or was this just his family?
So let's all grit our teeth and sort of hold hands.lol! Rings true.
Do Aussies fear multisyllabic names, or was this just his family?Shockingly so!
A far worse offense though is the arbitrary addition of "O" to the end various names and terms…
Damien == Damo (pronounced Day-mo)
Milkman == Milko
Musician == Muso (pronounced Mew-zo)

Nothing anoyed me more than when someone would call me Damo, after long enough though people seems to get the point & also appeared to get lazier & just started calling me 'D'.
But to add a few to the list -
Servo == Service station
Smoko == To have a cigarette/sometimes used to refer to a 10-15 minute break.
Jonno == John/Jonny
Well, just to push the matter further there is also the matter of adding 'a' as in the sound when saying 'at' but even going as far as adding a 'zz' to the end of names such as -
Lozza == Lauren
Bazza == Barry
Wozza == Warren? Don't ask me…
Bugga == Bugger, that one letter makes all the difference
a demonstration -
Me:'awesome its time for a smoko, damn i'm out… Jonno, Lozza, you guy's need smokes? i'm heading down to the servo'.
Jonno: Nah mate, we're all good, but the servo 'l be closed now, you'll need to go the the Milko, but watch yourself around that Muso, he's cunning, rob you blind he will.
Damn, my spell check hates me now…:dizzy:
