well ´cos frankly I DO blelieve in them …
(copied from comment for Charby the Vampirate)
"well it´s really strange ya see I live on a farm in Iceland and often the animals (cows) get "disturbed" in the night and I am the only one who wakes up by this because my bedroom is the closest to the … Barn?? dont know the english word for it… and I often have to go and check what´s going on an I sometimes think I see a hooded figure or at least someone with somthing on there head in the corner maybe and well … it always looks pretty much the same … and I get alot of nightmares even though I have a dream catcher(some native american thing) and it´s strange ´cos it all fits with this "Alp" thingie … mah dad says its nothing though"
and I think there is and Alp living near there house maybe
PLUS I myself live in an … mmmm maybe late 60´s kinda house and I think it might be haunted … maybe

I believe in mythical creature. I still think that there's an uncorrupt politician in the world.

Oh, and zombies. You can't forget about zombies.

I only believe in El Chupacabra, and maaaaaaybe bigfoot. Definitely ghosts too, silly as it sounds. Maybe the ghosts thing us just an irrational fear of mine though, something coming after me that I can't hurt but it can hurt me. :\ My mom believes in vampires. She thinks that all the people who go missing and never come back get eaten by vampires. I think she's crazy, but she's a mother, or course she's crazy. :b

It's moments like these when I wonder, "What if my username wasn't "Cthulhu"?"

What about the Mothman?:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mothman

Think it was just a big owl or something?

Oooh, Mothman was always a personal favorite of mine. I must have seen every TV show about it, and read every book/aritcle about it. Some people had some creepy stories.

I believe in some of them, such as Bigfoot since there's a good chance they're real, but things like vampires, nope.

I don't believe in mythical creatures. But I do believe that there are unseen spiritual beings fighting an invisible war between good and evil: angels and demons.

Just because you haven't seen it, doesn't mean it isn't real.

And that's all I have to say on the matter.

Yes, I have seen the face of death in the mirror, and I am he, and he is me. I am darkness without light. Terrible and unforgivable. I am evil. I am legend!

It doesn't matter, because they believe in me.

uh, those beings would be counted as Mythical Creatures too, you know. So that means you at least believe in a type of mythical creature… because those beings are YET to be proved, thus mythical.

No. Jormungand told me not to.
Best reply.

Ha! Well Dragoons were soldiers… There's probably still a regiment of dragoons in the British army ;)
Ya, of course the idea came from somewhere! Look at the natural world! Dragons and unicorns are all around you. It's so sad that people discount the amazingness of real creatures in preferences for made up versions :(
All the amazing animals like rhinos and different kinds of dears that gave rise to the idea of unicorns and massive snakes, crocodiles, giant lizards, gigantic fish and whales (as well as dinosaur bones) that were "dragons"…

I still think of Giant crocs as dragons. Those things are awesome.

I heard the notion of unicorns was started in Medieval times (at least in Europe) by traders who sold Narwhale horns, claiming they came from magical horned horses called Unicorns.

But then again… Y'know… public school…
