I liked to hang out at the video game arcade. It was so great to be there at 15 years of age, when everyone around you could tell you what a loser you…. er… scratch that! Everyone who saw you play could actually see your score and grumble about how good you play. Also hung out at the local fast food place near my place (they closed down long before I returned home from serving in the military). Too bad they're all closed now, but those were good times. :)
but it sucks that all my friends are married with kids and they (jokingly) make fun of my single status… T_T

For all you old folks, where did you hang out as teenagers?
When I was in high school, I wasn't allowed to go anywhere on my own. An older cousin would get $5 an hour for "babysitting" me on nights I wanted to go out. He would give me ten bucks and drop me off at the arcade next door to the stereo shop where he worked. I played a lot of Capcom. When I started to drive myself around, I would still go to the arcade. My friends really liked bowling and we'd go to the bowling alley, but I didn't enjoy it much. Other than that, I usually stayed at home or went to a friend's house.
I drew a lot, read a lot, hung out with friends a lot, went to the beach a lot… Where? At home, at the beach, at friend's places, at the cinema, in arcades, at the river, in parks, in the bush, in the city, all over I suppose.
I think I preferred to read and draw more than anything.
My other big passion was making stuff. With friends and without. I mainly made a LOT of crossbows and other related projectile weaponry. It got to be quite a passion… they could shoot through steel.
I even made one as an art project in art school and did quite well with it :)
I gave that up in the end because they were just too dangerous.
-So I hung out in garages and sheds a lot working with various tools.
I still love to make things ^___^

They look like a bicycle frame with a bunch of pulleys and ropes, as if I was going to hang my washing on them. Ugh.

Although I've seen auctions with traditional bows, so maybe once I'm better off financially and know where to shoot these things safely… as far as I know you don't need any permit on these things over here (especially since they're not very funcional as concealed weapons). Kinda funny that you can have bow and arrows but not baseball bats where I live, haha.

heheheheh , i never heard of somebody else who made a crossbow ,mine couldnt shoot through steel but it prolly would a killed somebody had i not been an expert marksman at shooting telephone poles , i also tryed to make a catapult , but it didnt work out too well
Im nineteen. Ha! I shant be old ever. Well actually i might as well be. I dont go out, dont have a lot of friends anymore and dont do alot. So i shall reminisce about the days when i was single and did stuff.
I used to hang around the in the town center and get drunk and stone… Uhhh… Intoxicated..? With my apparent friends. Then i got a girlfriend, stopped being stupid and joined a course in college. But during college we used to go into town and just mess around.

I've still got an old one I made out of a bamboo branch somewhere. Surprisingly powerful.

The model that could shoot through steel split in half explosively one day while I was aiming at something… It's a miracle I wasn't badly hurt. So I scaled right back on power after that.
I even made a crossbow/tripwire trap device thingo… but it was too dangerous to have something like that so I broke it up. -_-
My catapults didn't work too well either. One almost mashed my hand to a pulp (it went black and swelled like a balloon. I don't know how I didn't break any bones in it)
Not sure if I'm an old folk, but I'm not a teen.
High school: Sat in my room reading and writing
College: Sat in my room watching TV and studying
Now: Sit in my room drawing and applying for jobs

Aside from that, I loved going to movies and plays (still do, but can't afford it); that was always with my family not with peers. We lived in a little nothing town, so there was no mall or hang-out places to speak of. I sometimes took off on my own into the woods to just sit and listen to nature.

Growing up on a bush property, I made my own entertainment in the form of crossbows, long-range slingshots, swords, etc. I designed a slingshot that could throw a rock well over two hundred metres (was actually thinking about patenting it a few years ago).
A favourite game was to shoot a hunting arrow straight up in the air using an an old compound bow… the idea was to get as close as possible to where it landed (you had to stop moving as soon as it hit the ground). Nowadays, the thought of doing that makes my skin crawl… crazy kids huh?
Spent a lot of time in the bush, exploring for many miles, often riding or walking ten or twenty miles in a day, sometimes by myself, sometimes with a neighbour my age who lived in the next valley. Pretty much an ideal childhood/teen years in that way.
I also spent many hours before and after school 'hanging out' on the school basketball court with a large group of mates… I was the top player in my school and played rep all over the state (not as big a deal as it sounds here in Australia where everybody plays 'footy' and basketball was considered a 'wuss' game).
Single eh? Hahahahahahahahahaahahahaha!!!!

Actually a lot of things have prevented me from settling down… and now it's kinda too late to even think of that…
Also hung out around the back of my house a lot when I was 10 or so… it was so much fun building make believe cars and stuff from all the junk back there.

While this game wasn't around when I was younger, I did play it when I was in the army at the time. :)
Well considering how I'm only 20 I feel like I must point out how this topic is discrimanating based on age! But then agian since I was a lonely loser and had no where to hang out when I was a teenager I feel like I must point out how this topic also discrimanating based on experience! Double discrimanating?! I'm shock by you all XD
But for reals the pool hall/arcade was always fun.
