Thread "Going to New Orleans Disney Land... any Advices?" in forum "Comic Talk and General Discussion *"

My family is going to Orlando during Christmas for the 1st week (Monday-Friday- yay, I get to skip work!). To make the experience not like the one at Florida couple of years ago (Started skeptically, ended very badly), I should take some things into consideration before going.

So is there anything I should watch out for? Tourist traps? Cons? Bird crap snipers (Most unfortunately, it did happen)? Ludicrously expensive water bottles? Super death robot monkeys running about? Any advice would be appreciated.

DisneyLand, Universal Studios… well, it's there according to this printed flyer. I think it was more of Universal Studios.

dude seriously though the only places where there is a Disneyland and a Universal Studios is in california and florida. wtf made you think it was in new orleans?

New Orleans is about 800 miles from Orlando.

There is a rumor of a Disney park coming to south Texas, but nothing in Louisiana.

I have some great advice.

Don't go.

…Avoid the headache and cloud of sweaty stinky tired adults and whining mess of stinky kids and teenagers selling weed behind the Sleeping Beauty Castle and underpaid workers who don't want to be there yet are forced to smile and the incredibly long lines that are long for no reason whatsoever and the amazingly high-priced food that is expensive and yet incredibly bad.

The whole ordeal is just not worth it.

Well this might be only at Disneyland in Anaheim where this happened, but they really did that there. In the evenings, the place was crawling with pot-smoking teenagers and they had specific places in the park to get their weed.

I also had some friends who worked at Disneyland and they had some pretty bizarre stories. There were several deaths & incidents in the park that went unreported so the park's reputation would be 'untarnished'. Also, did you know the costumed mascots are only in their costumes for 20-minute intervals? I can see why; it gets so hot and sweaty in those things. There is also an underground tunnel connecting all the "worlds" for employees to go through so they won't disturb the guests.

I interviewed for jobs at both Disneyland and Disney World and I guess they didn't think I was 'happy' enough. You have to be super-happy; like, sorority-cheerleader-girl happy, 24-7, all the time. Their company has a motto that they like to keep secret, so if you ever have an interview with them, lay this one on them: "Safety, Courtesy, Show, and Efficiency." Their eyes get wide when you tell them that. It's like a secret password.

Although you'd think that'd be an advantage with the sweaty costumes and all lol!

Jesus Christ, you weren't kidding about the food. $15 for a slice of Cheesecake? $4 for a "Frozen Drink Carbonated"? And there are hidden McDonalds EVERYWHERE. Things weren't this ridiculous on the last visit!

Oogh, Magic Kingdom was going well until the night, where people get piss mad just to see a damn Parade. "Say, didn't I see that the last time I went here?"
Fireworks weren't that fantastic, either. One- the wind direction was directly at the crowd so the smoke obscured the scene.
But the 3 Mountains- THEY ARE AWSOME- MORE AWSOME WITH FASTPASSES

Sea World today. Break day tomorrow.
