Hello guys, Julien Brightside here

Posted at

Hello, I am not particularly new to DrunkDuck, but this is my first post and first thread.

I am a student and I read comics whenever I need to procrastinate.

I also draw something on the side and I kinda wonder if I should put whatever I make on this site.
I Am a bit unsure if there is any quality control? Like, does my art have to be over a certain level for me to put them here?

Hi Julien, and welcome! First, I have to say I love the concept of needing to procrastinate. I hadn't considered before that I procrastinate out of need, so thanks for that.

About quality control, there are SO many different talents here. You can judge for yourself by checking out the comics. One of the nice aspects of DD is that if you ask, many will provide their ideas of where you could improve or just change things up.

have fun!

Hum, interesting. I think will put my comic up when I get the time then.

The best part is you can ask for constructive criticism afterwards!

Quality control, bah. I draw stick figures, and no one kicked me out yet!

Damn the man and their conformity, Julien! Draw away!

I'd like to see you stand up in one of your law classes and say that.

Don't be so quick to judge, sweetheart. Tax lawyers make a living out of the "damn the man" mentality. ;)

Ah, "sweetheart" . . . not judging. I'd just really like to see that.

Oh, and hi Julien, didn't mean to hijack your thread. I saw that you have 2 pages up. more please :)

I`ll befriend you guys since you were so welcoming. Hehe.

Anyway, I will post more pages (When I get the time. Curse you clock). And if you like, or want to point out things that I can improve, you are welcome to do so.

Hey Julien Brightside! Have fun on Drunkduck, like me! I'm still a kid and I find it pretty easy to do things on here, so hopefully you'll find it a piece of cake! It's my school holidays and I've spent most of the week all day on DD - it's addictive! Good Luck!

What does procrastinate mean?

Procrastination: To put off something you SHOULD be doing by doing something else (usually something more fun or something that takes less energy).

That's how I'd describe it off of the top of my head, but the wonders of a Webster dictionary will tell you more.

As for the good Sir/Madame Brightside (I'm sure I've heard Julien as both a male and female name before, otherwise feel free to slap me with a dead fish), I would think that DD wouldn't kick someone out for bad are if they were at least half-trying. Some artists are simply more experienced (Or naturally talented. Darn you naturally talented people.) than others, they can't revoke your right to post for it I would think.

Besides, I read what you have so far and I am entertained. Methinks that to entertain the audience is the only thing a webcomic needs to do, yes?

Just to not make any confusion, I am a guy.

Glad to hear that you are entertained.
I will defintely keep updating the comic.

Ah, good to know!
*hands you a dead fish*
Feel free to use that.

Good luck with your adventures in the art of comic making, my friend. ^_^
