Uhm..hi! (these newbie posts are always so painful and awkward, aren't they?)

As you may have guessed from my forum name, my name is Dani. I know, I know – it isn't the most original username, and I had considered something like Snugglebunnykittenluviekins, but then I came to my senses and decided that would be reallyreally awful. ;)

I'm a cartoonist from NYC, barely scraping by doing freelance work – and trust me, it's as unglamorous as every whiny cartoonist before me has made a long angst-ridden comic about. I've drawn everything from naughty pin-ups for a paysite to interior illustrations & coloring pages for a Sunday School activitybook. I've also worked in animation, but I quickly came to my senses and realized that Flash was the tool of the devil.

I decided to check DD out for curiousity's sake, and decided to give it a try. I'll be using it as a mirror for my comic, Penny Copper.

And…I guess that's that! I look forward to meeting new people around here. :D

Nice artwork you got there!

Great to see new people here, seeing as about one out of every one hundred people who sign up introduce themselves…

Welcome to the Duck!

@Cthulhu – Thank you! I'm flattered, especially since it's coming from such a highly regarded supreme evil entity and all. ;)

And, I think lots of people are just really shy, and therefore never post. I dunno, I like to see what the community of a place is like, and connecting with other cartoonists & fans is always a major plus. :)

Welcome! I'm usually counted among the shy, but this community is awesome. It sucks you in. Being a freelance artist sounds like a fun but thankless dream come true. ;-) (The road less traveled has beautiful scenery but lots of potholes.)

Your profile sounds like you smushed my Husband, Ethan and I into one personality and moved her from Texas…I like you instantly–I can tell. Welcome to Drunk Duck, it really does have a fantastic community and you are just 'gonna love it here. (We feel your freelancin' pain.)—Lynn

@everyone – Thank you so much for the warm welcomes! It's always awesome to see a bunch of friendly faces. <3

@usedbooks – It is, but it isn't easy. Especially not when saving for more schooling – the call of the desk job is droll but demanding. D:

@Lynn – I've almost moved to Texas on two occasions. Does that count? ;D

@Zero – Thank you, really! *^^*

Oh and, I tend to abuse smilies & emoticons. I apologize in advance!

Then I guess I'm your opposite. I've only used an emoticon once, and that was when I got my title.

Welcome to the Duck! I also hope you enjoy yourself here. As others have said, you have some great artwork and the framework for a great comic. I'm curious to see how everything unfolds. :) <— (Necessary emoticon)

Heya Dani, welcome to DD. It really is a great place for connecting with other cartoonists and getting great feedback from fans.

I'm sure you'll love it here!

I'm also glad you went with the name you did. Snugglebunnykittenluviekins, being horrible in itself, is also a horror to try and type out.
