I have been thinking lately of ending my comic strip. I enjoy doing it but it seems to be unable to find any sort of audience. I was doing a single page strip that I thought would work but it never caught on. So I started doing a coherant story featuring a couple of characters I created a while ago. Still never seemed to catch on. So, I dunno, maybe this isn't working. Kindah frustrating but its so hard justifing in my mind keeping it going if I can't get any reaction to it. So I may finish the current story and stop it. It really is too bad though. I do love doing this. I would ask for any imput from you all if you have this same thoughts on your mind about your strip. Mine is drunkduck/working_stiffs.com

Honestly, if you're only working on a comic to get an audience and some recognition, maybe it IS time to stop. They should be fun for YOU. *shrug* Just my two cents.

Very true, if it's just for aforementioned recognition and audience, really, do you want to continue something not for fun, but to be recognized? It's like slaving away for no reason. Maybe the freed up time from quitting your webcomic will lead to another fun thing that you enjoy more! :D

I don't think you understood me right. It's not that I don't enjoy doing my comic. In fact its what I like to do alot. What I was saying is that it seems to be difficult to do when it's only a very few looking at it. One other thing though. Isn't finding a audience and getting other people to look at what you did is what every artist wants. If your honest with yourself you would have to agree.

Your audience is a huge influence, and anyone who tells you otherwise is lying out of their arse. There are hundreds of artists who would've quit if they had no one viewing their work. The honest ones admit that.

Have you tried advertising?

I know where you're coming from, it can be pretty disheartening when your working hard on something you love but no one else seems to. I've posted a link to advertisting and general awarness raising for comic works: http://www.drunkduck.com/community/view_topic.php?tid=28824&cid=238 Hopefully this will help you out a little. Often it not that people don't like the work, it more to do with the fact that they just haven't heard about it. Try adding friends, leaving comments on comics similar to yours and getting on newsposts when ever your comic reaches a milestone. I really hope this helps, goodluck! :)
