That's probably one of the saddest things I've ever read… ; ;. And I've read quite a few sad things recently. The economy is killing everyone, and the entertainment industry is the first to go. People are going to buy milk and eggs before they pick up comic books.

I hope the economy bounces back soon…

I very seriously doubt that the only reason for that is the economy.

I'm certain it isn't just the economy, but I doubt that it is helping anything.

So I told my wife about this. I said â€œTheyâ€™re paying people minimum wage and stock.â€

And it was morning, so words were taking a while to seep in. â€œStock?â€ she asked. Then a pause. â€œOh, *company stock.*â€

â€œNo,â€ I said, in morning sarcasm. â€œTheyâ€™re paying people in beef stock.â€

She glowered.

â€œI know a guy who used to get paid in beef stock,â€ I continued. â€œNow heâ€™s a *bullionaire*!â€
