Let's brag. we have had threads like: your fears, your flaws (my bad) and self-destructive behaviors, and while confession might be good for the soul, let's swing the pendulum.

Let's talk about what we're GOOD at. You know, maybe if you're good at something, and you share, maybe someone who could use some help in that area might reach out and, well . . . we can dream.

So, what me myself is good at:

dreaming and believing
flexibility (maybe too much - I can generally see both sides of an argument)
editing actually, I don't know many better. yes, I approach awesome. It's not because I'm a perfect grammarist, or I know so much, but I can see when a flow is interrupted, when there is an inconsistency. yeah, I'm pretty good.
well versed I'm no expert at anything, but I know a little bit about many things and I can usually hook up those who want to know more with those who know it
organized it's probably the attribute that most propels me at the work place, and it's come in handy on the rare occasion when I've been late with a bill "Oh, I see you've been punctual for the last ten years. Of course we can forgive the late charge"
"thinking outside the box" can't help it; I'm out there. Although sometimes it's a curse, it's usually a blessing
somewhat fearless It's not that I don't care what people think of me, it just doesn't stop me

And you?

Im a satanic super soldier.

I'm better than all of you singletons. I'm superior to all of you. Genetically, morally, and spiritually.

My name is Legion for we are many that inhabit this meat suit. :D

I can learn new things really fast and do them better than most people within weeks.

I find ways to cheat things and loopholes often. (this is good and bad)

I'm really lucky.(inb4 i have a terrible streak of bad luck)

I can spot patterns on abstract and seemingly unrelated data. Something that came in really handy when i tried out Stock Trading (before the global recession, haven't gotten back to it yet)

I can pull off drawing something and listening to something at the same time (listen to teacher at school, meeting, audio book etc)

I tend to do well at just about anything I want to. The exception to this has been anything musical, unfortunately. This is due mostly to another asset of mine, which is what I think is a remarkable ability to concentrate. Once I get started, I can sit down and work on something for hours and hours until it's finished the way I want.

I do very well academically. I work hard at it because I set goals for myself and I enjoy learning, but I still do better than most when I don't do as much work as I should(say, in classes I really don't enjoy).

I'm generally pretty quiet, but I'm quite confident when I have something to say.

I have a lot of empathy for others(including animals, as some of you may know about me), and can be very passionate about things. Sometimes this is a downside when it gets out of hand, but overall I think it's a good thing.

I have a good imagination. This one probably doesn't stand out as much on a website full of imaginative people, though. ; ) But I can be alone with my thoughts for ages and don't often get bored.

The thing that I miss the most about being in the gifted program was that back then, having one or more things that you excelled at was kinda the secret handshake. When you met someone and said "my thing is X" it wasn't bragging, it was just earning your right to sit at the table because everyone had something. Outside of that kind of environment, it feels more like bragging.

If I put the right spin on myself, I can almost sound superhuman. Like, tests put my IQ in the top 2%, I was a martial artist for almost ten years and I have an overactive degree of empathy. I've won enough awards that I stopped counting years ago. Hell, my last leadership position, which involved building a coalition of republicans, democrats, libertarians, and socialists, landed my face as the centerpiece of the front page of the local newspaper- and included getting a local law overturned by unanimous vote from the city council when the vote to enact it in the first place had been almost unanimous. I'm calm, thoughtful, and have a reputation of being very diplomatic.

I read random theories for fun- literally wander the library, grab books from random sections and then try to devour them in a day. It's even better, since my reading and English scores on the ACT were maxed out. My commute on my bike used to be about 8 miles every day- before that, it used to involve walking 6 miles (roundtrip).

It's hard to talk about that kind of stuff without interjecting flaws, especially since most of the things don't really translate to increased quality of life per se ^_^().

Probably more interesting to read about flaws I think :)
————
OK, pluses;
-I'm a pretty good artist with any media; The only difference to me is mess and storage, therefore these days I'm into digital.
-GREAT at drawing sexy bottoms. Female ones.
-Good at troubleshooting on computers; Always peoples go-to guy for anything technical -_-
-Marvellous taste in clothes; an eye for quality and style without devolving to mere fashion.
-An encyclopaedic knowledge of most things in the world; mainly because I have broad interests, do a lot of reading and have a good memory for facts, stories, and images.
-Very tenacious; Once I set my mind on something I make sure it happens, one way or another.
-The ability to look at things from different angles; instead of coming at a situation or story with the same perspective as the general consensus I'll often try a different approach, just to see if it's a better fit, this usually lends me a lot of interesting insights that aren't immediately obvious to others.
- I have great hair.
- I'm slim and stay fit easily.
- I'm very good at my job (graphic design), far better than many I encounter in the same profession.

————

All of which are equally counterbalanced by the things I post in all the other threads Ayes mentions and which won't talk about in this one! :)

I'm great in the sack.
I pick things up ridiculously quickly and usually well.
Pretty much a jack of all trades and master of none.

Yes!! I felt like you describing exactly the way in which I entertain myself. Which is nice, because I've noticed I do a lot of waiting in my life. But overall, you're right…we live in a world of imaginative people here at DD.

Otherwise, I'm athletic, single, like to watch the sunset…

Oh, this isn't what the topic implied? ;)

But really, I can say that I'm rather physically fit, not on the muscular side but endurance (running, I mean things like running).

Very technically versed. You could say anything that has to do with computers/math/science is something that I'm very knowledgeable on. Coding, physics, and working with hardware are all subjects I deal with on a regular basis. However, my heart has always been with comics and writing - this other stuff is simply what I do.

Something that I've gathered from others is that I'm a very good teacher. This is one of those blessing/curse contradictions because on the one hand it's very rewarding seeing something click in another individual after you explain something. On the other hand, it can be somewhat annoying having everyone ask you questions in class when they're not understanding it. This followed me a lot when I was in college. The worst part comes when you have to explain it four to five people at separate times.

Humm.

Well I'm a pretty good learner (both through smarts and knowing techniques) so the things that go along with that- picking up new skills, rapidly grasping new concepts, applying new things, etc.

I'm good at organization and "project management" (not in the workplace definition though, just in general terms) so most aspects of my everyday affairs are well taken care of, and large or long-term projects don't daunt me. I'm less good at forward planning but I think that is a case of too much optimism.

I have a brilliant sense of direction and time. I can usually estimate direction and time very accurately.

I have a good spatial brain, I'm able to 'manipulate' complex objects mentally (which combined with the sense of direction is a force to be reckoned with), but also means I can do things like easily read and write upside-down, and I dunno, other types of visual thinking like charts, maps, diagrams, etc.

I'm seen as being very creative but I don't really feel especially so. I guess it's more of the "having the perfect idea at just the right moment" kind, than the ongoing idea-generating kind. I suspect that might not really be creativity, more of a subconscious analysis of various needs and possibilities.

I'm good at being neutral/objective but I don't think that's something I'd say "I'm good at" as it is a personality trait that has worked out well for me.

Most of that is completely undermined by my natural tendancy to be unmotivated, impersonal, and selfish though.

Okay, I think I'll try…

I'm only twelve so I consider myself good at art for my age. That's something I can brag about, I reckon.

I am in top class for every subject at school, so I suppose I can boast that I'm clever.

I am good at writing stories and my imagination is over-active so I always have lots of cool ideas (not very good in some ways; always end up stopping comics halfway through and starting new ones)

As my brother says, i'm great at making friends with all kinds of people, and usually the right ones.

Ooh, and I'm a good leader, because whenever we're put in groups they always elect me because they say I can control people and teach them lots and help them…

Another good point is probably giving things a go. Even if I don't think I could do it, I'll always try and persist in doing things a learning how.

And lastly, I always beleive in myself and others because I think if you set your mind to something, you can do it! :D

Haha!

That's one of those talents where you don't need anything else. Sort of like being good at food-eating contests.

Huh?

If you mean I always go too long on the quackcasts, I guess there is a difference between not keeping track of time when you're engaged in something or being able to tell someone the time when they ask out of the blue. You'd think they'd be similar but I guess not. :[

Seeing some of the stuff people are good at is interesting! Some of them is stuff I'm pretty bad at, and others are skills I wouldn't have thought of. :]

Well, I'm pretty good at doing multiple voices, for starters:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cTk573QAHI&hd=1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOvAHYcD4CQ&hd=1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQcxXixyNx4&hd=1

I'm also pretty good at singing in multiple ranges (unfortunately, I don't have any clips of that yet).

Whenever I start something, I'm always determined to finish what I started, even if it takes months. A good example is an animated sequence I'm working on currently. I have almost no animation experience whatsoever, but I am determined to finish it even if I need lots of help doing so.

I've been getting better and better with drawing in the last five years (just compare this, which was made six months ago but went live yesterday, to this, which I made back in 2007).

I'm fairly good at writing, but I often have trouble coming up with a way to end what I'm writing.

Although I'm not as active as I once was, I do have a high endurance. I could walk around either in a city or the woods for hours. I can also carry a lot of heavy crap for the same amount of time (did so recently at a convention).

I love photography. My latest pride and joy in that area is the pictures I took at one of the Madison, WI protests.

I can be highly opinionated when I need to be. I was especially like that with my comics during college because most of the comics besides mine were the usual "two-guys-on-a-couch" schtick.

Finally, I know how to make a good on-the-spot riff on something, especially myself. After all, it's why I'm being such a huge braggart and why I never get a date. Did I mention that I'm a pretty good smartass when need be?

Let's see.

-I'm pretty imaginative
-I can type a pretty darn good rough draft of a paper.
-I can tear through a 700 page novel (or trilogy) in about two days
-I can tell the occasional joke
-And I can draw fairly fast.

Ah, I see. :] I've never played Snap, I don't think American kids really do. I had to look up how it's played. (We do play slapjack, but that's about specific cards and not matching.)
