I sent out 6, the BIG 6, basically, in April 2007. 2 weeks later I got 2 back, complete with standard rejection letters. I have a feeling they just didn't have any room to sign someone else. They were small syndicates in comparision. Or they just hated Z&F off the bat. I hope not!

This week (late May), I got another one back. Another small(er) syndicate. Only 3 left out there, but the good news is they're with the bigger oif syndicates, like King Features.

Keeping my fingers crossed! The longer the wait, the better the chances!

as of 7-13-07, the last 3 submissions are still sitting on syndicates' desks (King, Universal & Washington Post)… deciding whether to be stamped with a big fat "REJECT! YOU LOSE!", or to be actually considered. Let's hope for the latter. They've been out for 4 months and counting, a good sign. If I make it to 6 months… that's really good. Means I've passed each "level" of review thus far.

United Media, Tribute and Creators rejected me right off the bat. bah. No love for alien-dogs.

Now that I updated here, I'll have another dreaded SASE in the mail when I get home.

Got another rejection letter yesterday… Washington Post Writer's Group apparently doesn't like Z&F either. Just King Features and Universal Press left, I believe. But they're the bigger of the syndicates, so that's a nice sign.

Keep fingers crossed for me!

Well, that's that. All 6 subissions came back with rejection letters. The only positive thing I can say is that it took King Features 6 months to return my submission.. which means A: they're swamped and lost mine in the mess or B: I was in consideration for a long time and got axed in the "finalists", but I'll never know the answer. Not like they give you an idea where you stand.

I figure I'll do 25-50 more comics over the next 3-5 months, colorize the greytoned ones, and send a new submission out- this time in FULL COLOR and in my opinion, it's only gotten better writing-wise. More interesting stories and more characters.

*sigh*

Almost EXACTLY a year from when I sent out the last submissions, I packed up another BIG 6 envelopes with fresh Z&F comics. Went out right around tax day, LOL.

Less than a week later I got my first rejection from Tribune. Sheesh.

I'll keep you all updated as more come rolling in in their cute little S.A.S.E.. Yay me.

Anyone want to place bets on how little time it'll take for all 6 to come back? LOL

United Media wasn't interested either.

8-29…..Another rejection from Universal Press. Says "we cannot do your comic justice", whatever that means.

3 left.. going on 5 months.
