Well-rounded screentonist with mask knowledge wanted

Posted at

Looking for a screentonist for my Smackjeeves comic, Enigmatic Star (Pokemon comic). I was referred here by a friend there when I got no results on SJ or DA. Hopefully someone will may help here? :D

Looking for a(n) (well-experienced preferrably) screentonist. I have little time to really use the computer, so I'm really looking for someone I can rely on so I can keep going on with the comic given I literally can't screen and I don't have the time to color. (My computer will crash.) I will send you a mock page without the text, and then you must screen it to my specifications.

Must have use of Photoshop CS (or something compatible with it) and knowledge of masks to send me the PSD doc back so I can shrink it down without losing dot tone, because I work on a 300 DPI A4 sized doc.

Possible benefits of free artwork can be involved (such as a color guest page once in a while, coloring a few pages here and there, etc), as well as endless praise.

Right now I have four pages ready to be toned. If anyone wants to do it right now, I can offer 7 inked pages or something else to your liking. I'm desperate.

a4? Why are you doing it at such a enormous size? A width of just 10 or 10.5 inches will print absolutely fine, a4 is overkill for coloring or toning.

Also saying you want an 'expert' screen toner is a surefire way to scare a lot of offers away, because they'll think it's being conceited to apply. And on top of that they may think you're conceited if your art doesn't match up to an expert level..

Oops! Perhaps that does sound quite a bit really snobbish. Thanks for catching that! ^^; I think the term I was looking for was 'well-rounded'. Someone's that been doing it a little bit more than 5 minutes like I have (…and I've failed :P)

…and A4-sized. Isn't that typical letter size, 8 1/2" x 11"? Or have I been grossly misinformed? I always do everything in that dimension at 300 DPI. :X If I ever want to print something, I want that size available to me because anything smaller looks awful.

However, I do wanna re-size em just so I can post them at a viewable size online. Scrolling to see all the mistakes I make is not very nice. Hence the mask want. >>

A4 isn't an enormous size. it's pretty much the standard letter size in Europe (and many other non-US countries). It's an easy system to work with:

A5 - half of an A4 (ie, fold an A4 page in half shortwise)
A4 - standard, letter
A3 - double A4's size (ie, 2 A4 sheets next to each other) - small poster
A2 - double A3's size (4x A4 size) - large poster
A1 - double A2's size (8x A4 size) - huge poster

I suspect Skullbie is thinking of A3 :]
