House of the Muses is the story of Dika, a Spartan woman of oft-changing fortunes, who eventually ends up as a student of the poet Sappho of Lesbos. As Dika relates the events of her life, we discover more about who she is as well as the time she lived in. This is a historical comic, with attention to research and a good deal of story-telling text. Politics, conspiracy, personal struggles and passion are all in there- It's an involved story and well worth reading, but you'll have to start at book 1 (there are 7 so far). Rich environments and characters rendered with care with 3D is a great example of nontraditional comic media done right.
