We love Banes here on DD. He comments on our Quackcasts and newsposts which helps us tailor them better for the community and makes us feel great that someone actually listens to them! He also likes to join in with community projects, most recently the Secret Santa thingo and also the 2011 DD awards!.

Today begins the first of a series of outreaches that I have planned for 2012. For the past three years I have been an active contributor to the Comic Creators Alliance, a group of comic creators who do an annual fundraiser for Gracehaven and Love 146, two shelter and rehab organizations for survivors of human trafficking. We are Webcomic Creators from all over the world are working together on a single drawing which will be available as a downloadable wallpaper for readers who donate to our fund raising drive! January 9th – 20th!
One would think that slavery is a thing of the past, but the fact remains that it is alive and well both in America and around the world. An upcoming issue of A Deviant Mind (Issue 7, beginning December 18th) will also feature this topic. I made a promise to Lora Innes, the founder of this project, that I would try to personally raise a little more in donations this year.

The first round of Pay it Forward is nearing a conclusion, so I am trying to get together participants for round two along with any feedback from those who were part of the first round. I've been considering ways to make it more interesting, and general brainstorming in this thread.
