royduncan100 is kind of like DD's resident shock jock. He loves to get people's attention and rile up responses. I have no idea how much of what he does or says is genuine opinion and how much is designed to elicit reactions- he does like to play up the villain role, after all! But he definitely loves making comics that entertain, promoting others' work, and increasing the conversation and general interest around creating and reading comics. As a part of that, he's a veteran networker, frequent commenter, and he's got a bunch of loyal followers here and elsewhere- he could teach you a thing or two about self-promotion! He also relentlessly runs loads of other quality projects, like the weekly Villainland podcast and the currently-running 2011 Comic Awards. royduncan100 certainly adds some spice to the mix!
Don't forget we're always happy to have members nominated to us- just send oz or myself a PQ about who you think deserves a bit of a thank you. :]
from itsjustaar,
I guess now's a good time to let you know that Keeping Up with Thursday hit its 100th page mark, and Issue 4 is about halfway done, and should be finished hopefully by Thanksgiving. I'll be uploading a cute Halloween side comic between the 29th-31st which I did for the art jam on deviantArt, too, which includes a funny Pat'n'Vinnie chat with them dressed up as Jaq from Cinderella, and Professor Ratigan from Great Mouse Detective, both from Disney. xD
and from gunwallace,
Utterly Rucked has finished. 144 pages of comic for you to enjoy. A rugby-horror-comedy all done with Playmobil toys and a great deal of tomato sauce.
So, you may have noticed a new little toolbar along the bottom of your Drunk Duck pages. Wowio is giving that thing a tryout- it lets you access your facebook, twitter, and meebo stuff and share DD pages across various outlets. (I'm not sure if you must have a meebo account to do those, it seems like you do?) It doesn't send you ads or track your activity as far as I'm aware, and if you don't like it you can use the little 'hide' arrows to get your screen space back. There's nothing really to "announce" about this other than yup, we know it's there and you can use it or not as you like. :]
And! Don't forget to check out The Quackcast which came out yesterday- the news announcement was up a little late, but it's there!
Oz is the expert on this one, which focuses on advice about designing a comic website which makes your comic look good and is easy to navigate, as well as some advice about logos and branding. skool has her own opinions as well!
