Pit's massive gaping rut

I've come to the realization today that stagnancy KILLS me. Not literally, but it sucks the energy right out of my being. Never do I feel SO mortal as when there aren't any immediate prospects on the horizon. This isn't any surprise, that's what happens to a lot of people when they don't feel they're moving progressively enough. I just wanted to say: SET a goal for yourself.
It doesn't even have to be a concrete "I'll be done with this and this by this time", but think of some destination, whether physical or career wise or whatever that you'd like to reach, multiple ones even, and start taking little steps to get there. Are there subjects that fascinate you? Begin doing research on them! Hell, even consider writing a little book or a blog about what you learn about that thing. Talk to people who are involved in what your interest is. It'll give you something to look forward to and who knows, maybe even hides some opportunities you didn't know you'd find.
You have a 9-5 everyday, it's difficult to do things outside of your daily routine, because it's become a routine for a reason, but even just for an hour or two every other day, give yourself something to do that makes you excited to progress into the future. It's so important. Don't feed your rut!

A follow up:
We all have things we like to do to relax: Light entertainment that helps take the edge off when there's too much crap going on that's either infuriating or even just tiring after a long day. Some of you chase Pocketmen. I happen to binge watch Jacksepticeye (scoffing from all my Irish friends in 5,4,3,2…). DO these things, but don't let it eat all of your free time. It's easier said than done, but put down whatever that thing is and start a project, or think on something new that you can cultivate and grow through time. Try to start cultivating some sort of enrichment (that doesn't include rage clicking through badly written Facebook articles packed with rage-baiting). That's enough for now, get outta here you damn kids.
