A Great Big Community Project Round-Up!

There are quite a few interesting little projects going on right now! I thought it would be nice to showcase some of them in case people are interested in getting involved. Community projects are a great way to play around with your characters, get creative with writing and drawing, and find new comics! Here are a few happening on the site right now.


Character Swapping

This is a super interesting little project! The idea is that you re-draw a scene from another DDer’s comic, replacing their character with yours and figuring out how your own character would handle the situation. There are only a few people participating in this one so far, but I think it would be really cool to get more involve

DD Radio Play

The deadline for scripts is set for September 8th, but if you’re planning to submit something and want some extra time please let me know! I only have one script so far – it’s a good one, but it would be nice to have some friendly competition going!

The Drunk Duck Awards

Judging and presenting are starting to get underway now, but I suspect more judges might still be needed!

The DD Fashion Forum

If you don’t already know about this project, the idea is that you get to dress up your own characters (and others’!) in all kinds of cool fashions. The most recent suggest for inspiration is: What would your character wear to the MTV Music Awards?

The Halloween Cameo Capers

Hogan does a great job of explaining this so it’s best to just check out the thread, but basically the idea is that a bunch of different artists draw strips featuring their own characters and as many other characters as possible to create a giant Halloween party in comic form!
