A Day Without Webcomic Host Sites

kawaiidaigakusei at Dec. 18, 2017, midnight

(The idea of this post piggybacks on Tantz's article on Net Neutrality, which was inspired by Jillyfoo's forum thread on the same topic. Jillyfoo coined the phrase "planting the worry seeds" in the forum post in order to consider the worst possible outcome.)

I would go outside and take a walk if I woke up one morning to discover that smaller webcomic host sites were no longer online. Along the walk, I would appreciate the sunlight and bask in new day filled with inspiration. I might stop at a place for some hot tea or coffee and quickly scribble down my ideas in storyboards and then begin thinking about the page dialogue in my head. Then I would return home, set up a new sheet of paper on my drafting desk, and begin to draw a new page. I would keep drawing to get the stories in my head down on paper even if there was no longer a community platform to share stories.

At the end of the day, the removal of net neutrality would only limit the spread of creative ideas, but it would not be the end of all creativity.
